Chemistry exam this afternoon went well considering that I spent the time I had planned to study writing about time travel and how much I dislike chem class…oh wait, I wrote that when I had planned to complete my overdue homework for comp arc class. Anyway, I probably spent less than an hour actually studying this afternoon but when I got in there I realized that my interest in DNA serves me well as I remembered a lot of stuff from lecture even though I never did the reading or anything for that unit. We’ll see how well I did, but I feel pretty OK about it. Yay.
3D class this evening was good. This was the last class period of the semester (all we have left is our “final exam” time next Monday when we’ll view everyone’s work) so I really wanted to finish my modeling and get it rendering today so that I didn’t have to worry about that over the weekend (also, there’s gonna be a huge traffic jam of people rendering over the weekend as everyone does there final project renders and I wanted to avoid that as much as possible), I got it rendering but I didn’t do some things I would have liked…like added smoke effects to my rocket engines and added colored lighting at the end. Really just “extras,” so it was OK to drop them, but I kind of rushed myself toward the end of class because I don’t have time to work on it more tonight. So I have it rendering for 17.5 hours and will see if I can live with the final result tomorrow just past 3pm. Perhaps I’ll plan for this render (barring some kind of major problem) to be the official/final one that I turn in unless I can fit in another one this weekend with other effects. We’ll see.
I have a presentation tomorrow in Data Structures class on the Tiny Encryption Algorithm. I chose it because it seemed the funnest, but it’s certainly not the easiest. I’ve holed myself up in the CS Research Lab on campus on the assumption that I’ll be more productive here than sitting in my room at home, but so far I’m not sure that’s true. Perhaps bringing my MacBook along with me is the problem. At any rate, I need to, like, understand this f’ing thing by 11 hours from now, and I’d like to actually get some sleep between now and then, as well. Perhaps blogging about how stressful it is isn’t the best idea. I know that if I just put my mind to it I can have it done in a few hours, no matter how crappy a presentation it is, it’ll still be something.
Ugh. Only 7 days until I’m all done with this semester. It’s so close I can feel the freedom from mindless boredom!
Cheers.
